Design & production: thinking 4 steps ahead
🡄 Go to sustainability overview
Roughly 70% of our carbon footprint comes from our raw materials, while recycling and waste management make up 25%. Therefore, we want to rethink the way our PIR insulation boards are designed and developed to prevent waste before it starts. How? By making sure our products can easily be recovered and recycled as components for the next insulation systems.
But we don’t stop there; we’re banning waste in our operations as well. Think: energy for manufacturing processes, emissions from company vehicles, heating …
Projects
We’ve been applying the principles of eco-design to reduce waste at the source and have been experimenting with different partners to recover and valorise waste at the end-of-life stage of our insulation boards. As a member of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), a global initiative that develops methods for effective corporate climate action, we’ve also developped a roadmap to achieving net zero emissions across our own operations.
Designing for reuse & recycling
The majority of our carbon footprint comes from raw materials and waste management. Therefore, we’re applying the principles of eco-design to create systems that are easy to disassemble and recover.
